Michael G. Manning is the author of the popular Mageborn and Art of the Adept book series. He spent his formative years in Texas, reading fantasy books and concocting home-grown experiments in his backyard. At college his love of role-playing games led to what he calls his ‘best year ever’ and what his family calls ‘the lost year’. After graduating he became a pharmacist, then a programmer, and for some reason began writing books. Now people won’t leave him alone.
Retired from pharmacy, he lives in Texas with his kids and lovely wife/colleague (whose own literary work makes him worry she may be planning his demise). There’s also a menagerie of fantastic creatures, including a cat demigod, an ancient yorkie (which he suspects may be a lich), more cats, some reptiles, and a fish that hasn’t been seen for quite some time. The cats deny involvement in the fish’s disappearance.
